Founder Story
The Heart Behind Prayers & Pilates
Erica Carter is the Founder of Prayers & Pilates, DFW's only Christian-based Reformer Pilates and Light Therapy studio. A wife of 14 years, proud mother of four boys, certified Reformer Pilates instructor, and former Vice President of Sales, Erica has combined her passion for faith, wellness, leadership, and community into a mission that is transforming lives.
Before launching Prayers & Pilates, Erica spent more than a decade in the homebuilding industry, where she served in executive sales leadership, mentoring teams, driving growth, and developing leaders across North Texas. While she loved her career, God placed a new calling on her heart, one that would ultimately change the course of her life.
As Erica searched for a place where women could strengthen their bodies without compromising their faith, she realized something was missing.
There wasn't a studio that combined exceptional Reformer Pilates with Christ-centered community, prayer, worship, and holistic wellness. Rather than waiting for someone else to create it, she stepped out in faith and built it herself.
What began as a single studio has grown into multiple locations, the launch of an in-house Instructor Academy, and a vision to bring Christ-centered wellness communities to more cities. Every decision has been rooted in one simple mission: to create a place where people can encounter hope, healing, and genuine community while strengthening their bodies.
Erica's vision has always extended far beyond fitness. She believes true wellness begins with caring for the whole person, body, mind, and spirit. Every Prayers & Pilates studio is designed to be a place where people feel seen, encouraged, strengthened, and loved.
Her prayer is that every person who walks through the doors experiences more than just a workout, they experience the love of Christ, renewed confidence, lasting friendships, and healing from the inside out.

Ann
Ann became a certified instructor through the CP program when she fell in love with Pilates in 2023. She has a fierce passion to help others transform their lives through pilates while honoring their bodies as God’s temple.
Her favorite scripture is 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
